Gastric Ulcer Model In Vivo Research Studies
Project Description
Preclinical Laboratory needed for in vivo research studies with rabbit gastric ulcer model:
1) Is it possible to get a localized gastric ulcer lesion in rodents in your facility, whose morphology can be monitored for atleast 20 days?
2) If not, is it possible to use another technique to achieve the same
3) The experimental design will be as follows -
Each group has 5 animals.
Group 1 (normal control);
Group 2 (ethanol ulcerated);
Group 3 (ulcerated pretreated with reference drug, 3?mg/kg ranitidine twice a day orally, first administration immediately after ulcer induction and every 12 h after that);
Group 4 (ulcerated rabbits treated with bioprinted pristine hydrogel scaffold);
Group 5 (ulcerated rabbits treated with bioprinted hydrogel scaffold containing therapeutics);
After ulcer induction, the microbot procedure is immediately done through gastrotomy (potentially a stomach cut along the greater curvature) after which the stomach and then abdomen are sutured. Animal chow also has to be restrained for 12 hrs after procedure. After procedure, whole gross images of the ulcer - Histologic evaluation with H&E staining. - Immunohistochemical staining for collagen I, collagen III and fibronectin are required
