Ice Cream Manufacturer needs Southeast USA Food Microbiology Laboratory for Frozen custard testing - Petrifilm method for Standard Plate Count and Coliform analysis. A sterile whirl-pak bag to be used to collect product samples. Samples that are collected at the facility will be stored temporarily in a
hand held cooler from the store to the laboratory technician's car and then transferred immediately in a cooler below 4 degrees for transport
to the laboratory. The temperature will be taken at the time of collection and upon
receiving it at the laboratory to verify the integrity of the sample. A temperature blank will be retained with each sample set for increased accuracy. Adhere to the universally recognized
guidelines of good laboratory practices for microbiology. Samples that are collected will
either be plated on the day the samples are received, or the following morning. With the standardized use of Petrifilm, the confirmed Coliform
result is available within 24 - 48 hours of plating.
