Project Description
Analytical Chemistry Laboratory needed to test Argon (gas) as per European Pharmacopeia (Ph.Eur.). Specifically we are interested in impurities determination by GC as described in EP monograph for Argon: GC with stainless steel column 4 m x 4mm and molecular sieve for chromatography R (particle size 150-180 micras, pore size 0.5mm). Detection: discharge ionisation.
Limits for impurities as per our dossier will be:
- oxygen: not moret than 5.0 ppm v/v
- total hydrocarbons (methane): not more than 0.5 ppm v/v
- nitrogen: not more than 5.0 ppm v/v
