Project Description
USA materials laboratory needed for Fluid compatibility testing of elastomeric gasket material against a specific grade of kerosene to Exxon Mobil Global Practice 06-05-01:?The Vendor shall either verify that the gasket and glue material are compatible with the specified fluids, including chemical cleaning fluids, or submit proof that verification was performed in the past. In either case, the verification shall be performed by the execution of the following two tests:a) An immersion test to measure gasket swelling, hardness, and susceptibility to chemical attack. The test shall be conducted at the design temperature, and a piece of the specified gasket shall be bonded by the specified adhesive to a piece of the specified plate. The minimum duration of this test shall be 15 days. The gasket hardness change shall not exceed 10 IRHD (International Rubber Hardness Degree), and the volume change shall not be more than 10 percent.b) A compression set test taken on a gasket section compressed to the operational dimension at the upper working temperature of the elastomers. The test shall be done over a 15-day period with compression set measurement taken over 10 cycles. The pass/fail compression is 2 percent. These requirements may be waived if Vendor has at least two years of successful operating experience involving the same gasket, the same adhesive, the same process fluids and conditions, and the same gasket supplier.?
