Canada Metallurgical Laboratory needed for metallurgical testing/chemical testing SEM-EDS , EDS and evaluation of a gear cracked tooth that will point to the defect root cause, ie. raw material defect, heat treat process defect, or any other cause.The part is forgedand normalized,turned (OD) and broached (gear profile), induction hardened, and furnace tempered. Part length is 130 mm; diameter (at gear OD) is 165 mm; gear tooth width is 12mm, thickness(flank-to-flank) is 14 mm; flank height (root-to-OD) is 5 mm. Material is 1552.
