Project Description
Physical Laboratory needed for ASTM testing foam insulation for tensile strength to ASTM D1623, Standard Test Method for Tensile and Tensile Adhesion Properties of Rigid Cellular Plastics at cryogenic temperatures (-265 F / -165 C). Can you do such testing? If so, can you provide me a rough budgetary cost to perform this testing in 3 directions on one type of foam insulation? The foam is polyisocyanurate with a density of 2.5 lbs/ft3 (40 kg/m3). The expected tensile strength is around 265 kPa (38.4 psi). The foam samples would probably need to be glued to a metal fixture for the testing since grips would be unlikely to work.
If you cannot do this type of testing, do you know of any labs that can? Thank you for your time.
