Project Description

Eastern USA Non-Destructive Metallurgical Laboratory needed to test a piece (1/2" by 1/2" triangle shape) of corrugated metal roofing material taken out from one of the roofs at West Point, NY to identify the type of materials. The description in Building Information Database indicates as "Hand-Hammered Tin Metal roof" and it was built in 1816. The purpose of testing is to determine metal characteristics such as tin, stainless steel, steel, or tin/lead.
