Project Description
Canada (preferably in Alberta) Analytical Chemistry Laboratory needed to test specified risk material (SRM) from a (cattle) slaughter house. We need a quick turnaround with respect to results. We can accommodate any sample size required. In addition to the request to analyze SRM material, 3 other materials need to be tested. They include: tissue samples of paunch, beef cattle manure and water treated sludge (contents: 30% total solids / 70% water). The types of analysis required are: 1. Ultimate/proximate analysis plus chlorine 2. Btu content 3. Ash elemental analysis 4. Ash DTA 5. Moisture . The Proximate analysis consists of the percent by weight of moisture, ash, volatiles and fixed carbon. Data is extracted in the as-received condition and dry. High and low heating values in Btu/lb are also included. . The Ultimate analysis consists of the percent by weight of moisture, carbon, hydrogen, sulfur, oxygen, nitrogen and chlorine as well as ash. Data is extracted in the as-received condition and dry. . The ash analysis often includes an elemental analysis, fusion temperature and alkalinity index. Occasionally a differential thermal analysis of the ash is required. . The elemental analysis includes the oxides of silicon, aluminum, titanium, iron, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, phosphorous, sulphur trioxide, chlorine and carbon dioxide.
