Liquid Scintillation Testing - Intestinal Calcium Absorption

MULTIPLE SAMPLES
Need to send out samples for liquid scintillation testing for 45Ca²⁺ in vivo Intestinal Absorption Assay. This is to assess the ability of the intestine to absorb calcium.
• Procedure:
o Mice were fasted overnight.
o Under anesthesia, they received an oral gavage of a solution containing radioactive calcium (^45Ca²⁺).
o Blood samples were collected at 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 minutes post-gavage.
o ^45Ca²⁺ levels in serum were measured by liquid scintillation counting.
