Rubber Flex Coupling Material Testing
Project Description
Materials Laboratory needed for material testing for 3 different rubber flex couplings. The couplings are a soft rubber tube with a hard plastic sleeve over the center of the rubber body. We would like to compare 3 different samples. 1 is the old coupling unused, 1 is an old coupling used (been failing), and 1 is a new coupling with new material. The old couplings have been failing when put into compression by the pipes and shearing apart. It appears that the rubber material has weakened and is tearing fairly easily. We would like to see if the old coupling?s material has degraded or is significantly weaker than an unused old coupling and the new coupling. We would like to know the lead time on this testing and testing plans as well as a quote for the testing
