Soil Pesticide, Herbicide and Arsenic Testing
Project Description
MULTIPLE TESTING
USA Environmental Laboratory needed for DOT and EPA Composite Soil Testing for pesticides, herbicides, and arsenic. Each of the following four sampling methods will be run on each composite:
1. 8081B for Organochlorine Pesticides (EPA 3546): Targets older, persistent organochlorine pesticides like DDT, aldrin, and lindane.
2. Method 8151A for Herbicides: Detects common, older, chlorinated herbicides such as 2,4-D, dicamba, and atrazine.
3. 8270E for Organophosphorus Pesticides: Identifies a different and older class of commonly used pesticides designed for semi-volatile organic compounds.
4. Method 7010 for Arsenic: Detects metals in soils, including arsenic, historically used in older pesticides.
The following will be run later on any waste stream (after cleanup is complete for one of all of the ?areas?:
1. RCRA 8 metals by Method 1311: Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP), designed to determine the mobility of organic and inorganic analytes in soil.
2. VOC Scan using VOC sample preparation Method 5021A: The general-purpose method for preparing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in soils, followed by a scan for VOCs using Method 8260.
