Fish Liver Fats and Lipid Content
Project Description
Contract Laboratory needed for testing relating to a study whether fat levels in the liver can be related to the productivity of seaweed habitat the fish lives in.The challenge I have is these samples were collected in March 2021, were frozen at -20oC for a period of 4 months. The samples were then thawed, processed, frozen using liquid nitrogen and stored at -80oC. The liver samples (ranging from 0.3-1.8g) were placed into Labman robot and ground at -60oC, with 50mg of sample dispensed. I had originally aimed to understand the fatty acid profile from each liver which would then give me a value of total lipid content as a proportion of weight. However, I would now like total fat content of the samples as a proportion of weight as I'm concerned that due to disruptions, time in storage, and storage temperature the samples may have degraded. Is this an analysis you can do for me and how much would it cost per sample. I have approx. 100 samples. Thanks
