Textiles UK REACH Extractable Heavy Metals Content
Project Description
Textiles Laboratory needed for UK REACH extractable heavy metals content testing by acidic artificial perspiration solution as per BS EN 16711-2. Is this something you would be able to do? If not do you offer any similar methods?
The purpose for the testing is to ensure compliance with UK REACH regulation. The client is a clothing manufacturer and wants to make sure that the fabrics they import form around the world are safe.
The key fabrics we are potentially looking to have analysed for metals would be leather, polyester, Gore-Tex, Tyvek, Coated Nylons, Cotton, Linen, Satin and Chiffon.
The metals we are mainly looking for include Aluminium, Antimony, Arsenic, Barium, Beryllium, Bismuth, Cadmium, Cerium, Chromium, Cobalt, Copper, Indium, Iron, Lanthanum, Lead, Lithium, Magnesium, Molybdenum, Manganese, Nickel, Phosphorous, Selenium, Strontium, Tellurium, Thallium, Tin, Titanium, Vanadium Zirconium and Zinc.
The number of samples could range from 10 - 50 a month for a 3 - 6 month period but has the potential to extend.
With this in mind, do you have a set pricing structure for all or select metals as some may not need all metals and does it depend on which fabric type, the price that is and how much of each fabric would be needed?
