Project Description

USA LABORATORY (California Preferred)
Large Company needs USA Third-Party Independent Laboratory for determining if batch and mix using supplied ingredients are following the prescribed manufacturing process. Raw ingredients will be supplied in excess of the formula requirements.

Note - Two unique batches are required

Batch 1 - Full recipe as shown below
Batch 2 - Recipe minus ingredient 8 - Calcium Ascorbate

The ingredients are as follows,

1. RM1001 Deionized water (93.14%)
2. RM0049 Potassium Sorbate (0.15%)
3. RM1375 Citric Acid Powder (2%)
4. RM3661 Sodium Citrate Powder (2%)
5. RM6362 Kosher Glycerol (0.2%)
6. RM0026 Sodium Chloride (2%)
7. RM0145 Decyl Glucoside (0.5%)
8. RM7215 Calcium Ascorbate (0.01%)

Manufacturing process - DO NOT DEVIATE

1) Bring water to room temp before the ingredients are added
2) Start the agitator and allow turbulent action to begin.
3) Slowly add each component (see order below) to room temperature water and wait for the
component to be completely dissolved prior to adding the next component.

EXACT INGREDIENT ORDER AND PERCENTAGES MUST BE ADHERED.
a. Dissolve potassium sorbate until clear
b. Add calcium ascorbate until clear (Batch 1 only)
c. Add citric acid until clear
d. Add sodium citrate until clear
e. Add vegetable glycerin until clear
f. Add pure salt (zero additives) until clear
g. Add and dissolve decyl glucoside thoroughly.

4) Continue blending the solution until the component is completely dissolved, up to 2 hours.
5) Allow mixing solution to sit for 2 hours prior to filtration, maintaining all measures to prevent contamination and microbial exposure.
6) Filter appropriately with 5-micron filter.
7) Upon completion of the batch and all components are completely dissolved, take a sample to the lab for analysis and bacteria testing.
8) Filter solution once again prior to bottling; bottle product in designated-sized bottle, checking for imperfections or residue in the bottle.
9) Supply identified bottled samples for batch 1 and 2 to U.S. Continental.
