Cell Line Authentication to Ensure Quality of Your Biotech Research

04/14/2023

Contaminated and misidentified cell lines cause serious problems in life science community. A cell line becomes troublesome through cross-contamination, mislabelled or other laboratory errors. Thus, it no longer corresponds to the original donor and may in fact corresponds to an entirely different species, tissue or disease. Consequently, data derived from misidentified cell lines can be misleading or false and cause confusion in the scientific literature. To address this problem, biomaterial validation is now required by funding agencies and by a number of scientific journals. Additionally, the FDA requires validation of all materials included in investigational new drug (IND) applications.

As a CRO involving a lot of cell line researches in our daily work, we suggest cell reauthentication when: ? you receive a new cell line from other laboratories. ? your cell has been passaged more than 10 generations. ? your cell is not growing actively as supposed to be. ? your cell is continuously growing for more than two months. ? you are preparing a cell bank. ? cell growth condition is in doubt.

If you need an experienced expert to check your human, mouse, rat or canine cell lines, we can help to provide you a fast, reliable and cost-effective cell authentication test under our TME (Therapeutic Modeling & Experimentation) service. Our cell line authentication can ensure the quality of your work by providing a DNA fingerprint for each of your cell lines with provided samples. Our workflow follows the International Cell Line Authentication Committee (ICLAC) standard and our STR (Short Tandem Repeat) report meets the requirements for funding agencies and scientific journals.

Please send us the details of your request to enquiry@tme-scientific.com, we will come back to you soon for more details.
