Mechanical Testing Lab
EXCELEN is proudly recognized as an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory (A2LA Certificate 3786.01). The mechanical testing laboratory at EXCELEN features five load frames capable of performing a wide variety of ASTM, feasibility, prototype, and customized testing for the evaluation of medical devices.

Surgical Skills Lab & Training
EXCELEN's Surgical Skills Lab is available for training to all medical specialties and can accommodate up to eight (8) full body stations with C-arm and instrument trays. We provide human cadavers or anatomical parts, cold / freeze specimen storage, instrument cleaning services, and a preparatory room for set up, research, or single station projects. GE 9900 Elite C-arms, Mini-C-arms, and Linvatec power drills and saws are on-site. Basic instrument set-ups, arthroscopy towers, suction, and air are available.

The Surgical Skills Lab is an excellent setting for companies to perform procedure validation, quality assurance, product testing, sales training, and physician training.

Collaboration
Students, interns, and fellows have access to EXCELEN's team of experts. Our staff including highly qualified and experienced engineering and design talent, and a biomechanical research & development team is internationally recognized. EXCELEN is located adjacent to the Hennepin County Medical Center campus, so associates have direct contact with orthopedic patients and their physicians. This relationship with patients and physicians creates a close, productive, and crucial connection between our laboratory work, development of improved devices and techniques, clinical outcome studies, and patient care.
