ILS was established as a multidisciplinary research organization to provide comprehensive support to federal and commercial clients in the environmental and health sciences. ILS couples scientific excellence with efficient management skills to meet client's requirements in both a responsive and cost effective manner.

With a tradition of scientific excellence, ILS plays an important role in exciting areas of research such as the assessment of new and alternative toxicological testing procedures; molecular and genetic examinations; mechanistic studies of cell growth; cancer and cancer chemoprevention; translational clinical research; environmental and ecological evaluation of hazardous sites; and comprehensive scientific information services.
