Description: Quality Assurance analysis tools are normally thought of as manufacturing and process oriented statistical analysis tools. So, why utilize them in metrology and testing applications? They are used in many indirect ways in metrology even when laboratory personnel do not think they are using them. When one checks their standards at a regular interval, performs intermediate checks and record the data, they are informally performing the first half function of control charts. Comparing results of one calibrator versus another is another informal approach of analyzing data. This seminar formalizes different techniques used in calibration and testing laboratories, so more information is derived from the data gathering exercise. As a result there is more confidence in the analysis of data and results reported.
