Environmental Microbiology Laboratory needed for algae MIC testing on blend of two biocidal compounds (both are fairly water insoluble powders). The MIC testing has to be conducted on two species of algae. Plenty of labs can run the tests on bacteria and fungi, but haven't been able to find a lab that can run the testing on algal species.
Contract Laboratory needed for fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) analysis on approximately 72 marine plankton samples (on 47mm filters, in chloroform) and 72 copepod samples over 3 years (144 total).Would prefer a DB-23 column or similar to provide as much separation as possible in the C14-C22 range. Transesterification using sulfuric acid is preferred. For the copepod samples, TLC separation of FA esters and fatty alcohols may be necessary.
EPA Microbiology Laboratory needed for EPA microbiology testing. We are looking for EPA testing for heterotrophic plate counts, E. coli and Enterococci (preferably using IDEXX kits), and Vibrio cholerae testing. Samples would be collected from ship ballast water. We would like to specifically get information on labs in or near Vancouver, BC area as we would be shipping samples overnight from the Vancouver area.

assess the androgenic activity, in a quantitative fashion, of a single steriod with the trivial name tetrahydrogestrinone(THG) in a pilot scale study. Either an aquatic organism model or rodent model would appear adequate to provide the information desired but other potential testing types will be considered such as in-vitro receptor binding studies. The study should compare the relative androgenicity of THG to a reference compound such as testosterone
