USA clinical laboratory needed for HIV plasma testing: detect virus in human plasma using TEM Need to visualize HIV particles in human plasma using TEM to correlate with viral load measurements. Must detect HIV by size and morphology only. Have successfully used TEM to detect two different clones of HIV added to plasma at concentrations of 1 million particles/ml and above. Must be able to detect virus at concentrations typical of viral load numbers, which range from 10 to 1000-fold below the practical limit of TEM detection. Centrifugation alone does not work. Steric exclusion HPLC can purify retroviruses in blood plasma and achieve over a 1100-fold purification. HIV elutes in the void volume. Centrifuge void volume to a pellet, suspend in 20 uL buffer, do TEM. (Darling et al. (1977) J Chromatogr 131:383-390.)
Bioanalytical Laboratory needed asap for Human Embryonic Cell lines testing: Tests included: cultivable and non-cultivable:mycoplasmas, bovine and porcine adventitious viral agents, PCR detection and quantitation of human polyomavirus (JCV), human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), PCR-based reverse transcriptase assay for retrovirus detection, in vitro safety testing on MRC-5, Vero 76 and HeLa cells, in vivo safety testing with mice and embryonated chicken eggs, and transmission electron microscopy for viral particles.
Biomechanical Laboratory needed for potting and torsional testing of approximately 30 rat femurs to failure. Data to be collected will include the torsion to failure and shear modulus of the material. Typical failure strengths have been recorded in the range of 0.2 to 1.0 Newton-meters at a rate of 0.5 to 6 degrees/second.
Clinical Toxicology Laboratory needed for testing urine samples to conduct a research on chemical analysis of the levels of toxic chemicals in urine of victims of the gas disaster and individuals exposed to water, contaminated by heavy metals and organochlorines. Need to test for Aldicarb Dichlorobenzene Hexachlorocyclohexane Trichlorobenzene Chromium Mercury

New patients-all the above test and Hepatitis B
US Clinical Laboratory needed to receive and process fresh blood samples in approximately 30 cities across the US over a 2 year period from a study of fire fighters. We are proposing a national study with the fire service and will have scheduled times for blood draws in different part of the US. I have identified a national group of phlebotomists who will do the blood draws. A contract phlebotomist will go to selected cities to the designated fire departments to draw a 10 mil serum sample from about 8-10 fire fighters on a selected day. I need a lab to process the blood, prepare a 3 mil aliquot and ship it to our lab in Houston, TX, and assay the remaining sample for:
Results of the assays would also need to be sent to Houston electronically. There will be no more than 500 samples over a 2 year period. The samples come in fairly regularly over the time period with a few each week. If funded the study will begin in July 2011 and finish in June 2013.
I will need immediate costs estimates (per sample) to use for a grant application. Please contact me as soon as possible as we are writing a grant for this activity.
