Laboratory Description:

1. Glycan Microarray for investigation of protein-glycan interaction
Our glycan microarrays owe their superior performance to our patented microarray substrate technology.  Our substrate surface chemistry enables 3-dimensional glycan presentation on substrate surfaces, facilitating multivalent binding interactions and showing better performance than traditional planar substrates of our leading competitors.  In addition to our multivalent adaptation of traditional NHS-activated substrates, our multivalent hydrazide substrate slides can directly immobilize free sugars, eliminating the need for tagged glycans for covalent attachment to the microarray slide. In addition, we have developed optimized assay buffers to clarify results through higher binding sensitivity and lower background noise.

In partnership with a research institution, we offer the latest in microarray analysis software to help researchers obtain the most valuable information from the glycan microarrays without spending hours manually interpreting the data.  Our software is designed to not only transform microarray data into readable charts, but also to identify specific, statistically significant glycan motifs that describe the ideal epitope of any glycan binder.

2. Glycosylation profiling using Lectin Microarray or Flow Cytometry
 2.1 Lectin Microarray

Currently, glycosylation analysis is mainly based on Mass Spectrometry (MS).  MS is expensive and inefficient, leaving a huge gap in analysis and production in the therapeutic biologics and biosimilars/biobetters markets. To solve the issue of low efficiency and high cost of current mass spectrometry glycosylation analysis, Z Biotech offers cost-effective lectin microarray-based glycosylation analysis solutions.

 2.2 Flow Cytometry

In addition to Lectin Microarray, Z Biotech offers full panel of glycosylation analysis on living cells using Flow Cytometry. We have discovered a panel of lectins or ant-glycan antibodies to probe the glycosylation pattern. In addition, the Flow Cytometry assay SOPs have been well established. We have the capability to perform the services from culturing the cells to reporting the Flow Cytometry results. Customers can either send us their predicted glycan-binding proteins for analysis of glycosylation pattern on specific cell lines, or send us the cell lines they are interested for probe glycosylation using flow cytometry.
